Groove Drum Camp
Four weeks. Real drums. Ages 6–14. Every July.
Where kids stop tapping the table and start owning the groove.
Three quick questions — we'll show you exactly what's right for them.
How old is your drummer?
We tailor the curriculum to each age group.
The sweet spot — old enough to nail coordination, young enough to be fearless. We build a real vocabulary: paradiddles, ghost notes, groove feels across rock, funk, and Latin.

Ages 12–14
Every day is structured around building confidence — not just chops.

Everyone grabs their sticks and joins the opening drum circle. No wrong beats — just presence.

Small groups of 4. Instructor works one technique at a time — slow, then fast, then musical.

Free play with a counselor nearby. This is where the magic happens — they find their own voice.

Picnic tables outside. Kids trade beats, share snacks, and realize they made friends without trying.

They pick a real song — something they actually listen to — and figure out how to play it.

Five minutes of group reflection. Every kid names one thing they got better at today. Every single one.
Ratio of 4 campers per instructor. Your kid is never lost in the crowd.

Head Instructor
12 years teaching kids drums. Former touring drummer turned full-time youth educator. If there's a kid who "can't get it," Marcus hasn't met them yet.
Favorite groove to teach
"Funky Drummer" by James Brown — because everyone can find the one.

Instructor & Curriculum Lead
Berklee College of Music grad. Specializes in world rhythms — she'll have your kid playing a Afrobeat groove before they realize they're learning theory.
Favorite groove to teach
"Superstition" by Stevie Wonder — the groove that proves drums are the heartbeat.

Advanced Track Specialist
Session drummer, composer, and the person who finally explains odd time signatures in a way that makes sense. His Advanced Beat kids leave ready for high school band — and beyond.
Favorite groove to teach
"Tom Sawyer" by Rush — because Neil Peart taught us that complexity can feel like freedom.
"My six-year-old couldn't sit still for five minutes before Groove. By Week 3 she was playing a full song. I cried at the recital — full ugly cry."
